While held by the same family until it was sold in 2020, the property was the site of Bray Family Farms for about 15 years beginning in the late 1990s. When it came time for the owner of the property to sell, diligent efforts were made to find a preservationist-minded buyer, though they were unsuccessful. Sadly for the owner, it came down to the land being purchased for subdivision development, but she was happy for as much as possible to be salvaged from the family home. We uncovered the original beautiful beadboard behind the sheetrock, and pulled the original doors, windows and barn siding. After a total of seven hours of persistence and creative engineering, we were even able to pry a 1950’s film trailer out of the brush and overgrowth and trailer it back to Dixie!
